i've mentioned before that i listen to a local sports/tomfoolery radio station here in dallas called the ticket. well a few weeks ago, one of the evening drive hosts declared on-air that the mavs were now his favorite local team, displacing the cowboys i believe.
mark cuban (the owner, if you're a sports ruh-tard), happened to be listening and instantly tweeted that the host, corby davidson, could be his guest at an upcoming mavs game.
i thought that was the coolest thing ever and really enjoyed hearing corby talk about what all goes on from that vantage point during a game.
anyway, fast forward to last week. well, back up first. mark cuban is known for answering most, if not all emails. i have emailed him things in the past and have usually gotten a response. i've always thought that level of access completely sets him apart from other sports owners.
so last week i had the idea to email him and beg to sit next to him at a game. below is the email thread.
from me to him -
Mr. Cuban,

now tell me that's not the most awesome thing. rather than getting annoyed by me (i guess he still might have), he hooked a brother up with some tickets. the game is this coming friday and i have no idea where the seats are, but since (a) they are free, and (b) they give me a cool story to tell, i don't care where they are.
and he'll still get his money by all the drinks i'll buy at the platinum level bars.
so in closing, jerry jones and his band of underperformers might get most of the attention around here, but mark cuban has tiger blood and adonis DNA. he's also an F-18, bro.
GO MAVS!
