i love christmas. i love having a tree up, and being around my family, and watching the little kids open their presents. however, christmas is, to me, a secular holiday, as i'm not religious.
having said that, there's one aspect that i don't get.
i'm certainly not a theologist, but shouldn't people who are religious leave crosses out of the whole celebration?
i mean, celebrating christmas with a cross is like celebrating lincoln's birthday with a revolver. probably not one of jesus's top 10 moments from his time on earth.
"happy birthday jesus! remember that time you were slowly fucking tortured to death while everyone stood around and watched and no one did a fucking thing? yeah, here's to that good time!"
merry xmas everyone.
