we finished watching brokeback mountain last night and i really liked it. it dragged a bit during the middle third, but it was still a moving story.
we probably had to hit the instant replay button about 100 times to pick up various things ennis said. they really needed subtitles for his parts.
so i've decided that today is "talk like ennis del mar day". well technically, i started doing it last night once the movie was over, (much to the delight of my wife, who eventually ignored me altogether) but now i'm going to do it all day at work. i've already called my boss "jack fucking twist" and told him that he was "a real thinker" who "got it all figured out, dontcha". needless to say, he couldn't understand a word i said, so he probably assumed i was talking about "getting aligned" and "working better together".
also, a buddy of mine told me to "shut the fuck up with the mumbling" when i tried to tell him about riding broncs in the rodeo. but it was ok, because i knew how to quit him.
ennis del mar day could turn into ennis del mar week, following the 2001 tradition of "talk like sean connery week", which made my entire department stop speaking to me, for fear that i'd tell them, "here endeth the lesson" or some other such scottish wisdom.
i'm gonna ride it as long as i can. ain't no reins on ennis del mar day/week.
