i swear our almost 7 year-old has some insane rain man-like memory.
we went grocery shopping last saturday, march 5. when picking out donuts for the boys, we noticed that the "best by" date was march 9 on all the bags. not very far out, but it's not like donuts spoil, so we got them anyway.
fast forward to yesterday morning. while my wife was taking the boys to school, the 6 year-old sits up suddenly in the backseat and goes, "mommy, is it march 9; is it march 9?" she said he used a tone that indicated alarm.
she told him it was and he responded, "the donuts expired!".
i can't remember what i had for dinner last night, but he can remember a ten second conversation about an expiration date from four days prior. now if i can only teach him to count cards...
